Bed Time can Be Beard Time

Writing about beard care is fun. But, if Im honest, sometimes I run out of things to write about--or at least I think I do. Thats when a good conversation with another bearded brother reminds me that there are still some tips out there that most do not know about.

The tip Im about to briefly describe will help with morning beard (you know that mess you wake up with). Well, we are about to put an end to that. The tip will also help keep your beard nourished and vital. Here is the tip: A good beard in the day day starts the night before. Simply put, a simple nighttime beard routine will add years, size, health, and ease to your beard.

Your beard can dry out at night. Its just this simple, we don't really think about taking care of our beard while we sleep, but if we did it would help tremendously. I practice a nighttime regiment that literally eliminates beard mess in the morning. Thus eliminating the drudgery and hard combing it takes to get the beard in place. I have been doing this for years and my beard has benefited greatly. Practice this routine and you will see the benefit as well.

Before Bed Beard Routine:

1. Grab a comb and give your beard a quick comb through. Don't get crazy, just comb it nice and easy.

2. Put a splash of water on your hands (luke-warm) and get your beard damp. Don't wash it. just get it wet.

3. Grab your beard oil and put a tiny bit in your hand. When I say tiny, I mean just about 3 drops. Rub your hands together and put it in your beard.

4. Comb through your beard. Again, just a light comb through.

5. Grab your beard butter (or jelly) I prefer butter. Put about a pinky nail size in the palm of your hand and massage it into your beard.

6. Comb through it again.

7. This is a bonus. Get you a humidifier and use it at night (especially if you live in the dry Mid-West). This will help with "beard dry out". It will also help your breathing--added extras--YES!!!!! I love my humidifier and I swear it helps keep my beard nice and nourished. I don't do it every night--but as much as I can.

There ya go. Have fun and beard up.

Stephen
