Things I Wish I Knew Early On in the Beard Game

Growing a beard is easy! Sure it is if you want to grow a normal beard. But, if you want to grow a beard that is Epic it takes work. I didn't know much when I first started growing a beard. So, obviously I made some mistakes. I sure wish I had someone to help me back then--a beard coach if you will. So let me help you out. The following is 5 things I wish I knew early on in the beard game.

1. You Don't have to wash your beard everyday--you actually shouldn't

Seriously, to much washing your beard will not make it softer. It will actually strip[ the oils and make it more brittle. So, stop it. Wash it at most 2-3 times a week at most.

2. Beard product is a must.

I know, guys don't really like to talk about product. But, start talking about guns or tools--bet! My goal is to make beard products part of that list. They are not just a good idea. Beard products are a must if you want a healthy and well groomed beard. Don't know where to get them or what to choose? Well, I sell them. You could also google search "beard oil, "beard balm" etc. Or, you can YouTube search for beard product reviews. What to get? NATURAL products--Why? because they are better than synthetic products.

3. Get a good comb

I used any ol' comb when I first started to grow a beard. The problem was that the cheaper combs had snaggle teeth and hurt, even pulled hair out of my beard. Spend a few extra bucks and get a good comb. I personally use KENT combs. They are all hand made and saw cut. When you feel one you are hooked.

4. Use a Blow Dryer to straiten Your beard.

My beard is really curly and wavy. If I just let it be it would just grow OUT and never down. So, I discovered one day that "Heat + Tension (light Tension) = Direction. So, one day I grabbed a blow dryer and used it as I combed my beard. Guess what. It actually straitened my beard out and revealed the real length of my beard. Now, I get have a blow dryer with different settings for speed and Temp. I start it out on low speed and warm air. I rarely use the hot setting. Then I turn it all the way up on speed and put it on cool. Then I put Beard oil in and do the low/medium routine again. Bam! Straitened Beard.

Well there you go. 4 things I wish I knew early on in the beard game.

Have a good one.

Stephen
